A pipe insert sleeve is a pipe seal that is specifically designed to shield the welded joint area of coated pipeline from corrosive process fluids by forming a continuous internal coating transmission section at the junction welding section. This product can be utilized in the field jointing of both onshore and offshore pipeline installations and can be created in a variety of sizes, grades, materials, and piping system configurations. The sleeve is suitable for both liquid and powder pipe coatings.

Internal pipe sleeves / Metal pipe inserts, an innovative technology, are now being used more frequently to prevent corrosion at internal field welds. The internal pipe sleeves are designed to provide corrosion protection for the girth weld area as well as a completely internally coated pipeline. They are used for internally coated accessories and internally fitted, welded pipes, acting as a protective barrier during the welding process, ensuring the pipe’s polymer coating’s durability and preventing corrosion spots at the joints.

• Heat generated within the pipe during the welding operation will burn back the internal plastic layer roughly 1-2 inches from the welding seam. The sleeves and fittings are intended to isolate the coating burn-back and preserve the steel substrate.
